The band "The New Metronome All Stars" played a mixture of pop and jazz at various venues in Leeds in the mid 1970s. The diversity of its repertoire was a result of the very diverse backgrounds of its members. Dick Clay and Andy Macgill met as teachers at Roundhay School, and the other four members of the band - the Addlestone brothers, Larry and Brian, Andy Drake, and singer Diana Smith were all originally pupils at Roundhay, playing in various student bands. The New Metronome All Stars had a long-term residency at Viva's Wine Bar, in Leeds.
